Horse Racing at Ascot, UK
Probably the most glamorous horse racing event in the world, Ascot attracts a diverse and discerning clientele. Possibly due to the name ‘Royal Ascot’ it has a prestige that other horse racing events just don’t have.
Royal Ascot runs from a Tuesday to Saturday in mid June (2017’s dates are 20th-24th). The Saturday is by far the most popular day out, known as Ladies Day. You’ll need to be immaculately attired to get in but expect to be rubbing shoulders with Royalty, literally.
For sheer prestige value, Ascot is a must visit.

Formula One Grand Prix, Various
The Formula One race calendar runs from March to November and has many pit stops along the way. If you’re a fan of fast cars then you’ll want to check out at least one of the ‘Grand Prix’ on the tour.
Traditionally, Monaco/Monte Carlo is seen as the glamour fixture but it isn’t always the best racing spectacle. In fact with new circuits being introduced all the time the opportunity to see some world class motor racing has gotten easier. Singapore, Abu Dhabi and Mexico have recently been added to the race list which each have their own benefits.

Champions League (Semi Finals and Finals), Europe
The beautiful game is never more beautiful than when the stakes are high. And it’s the later stages of the European Champions League when the glamour teams are left in and it’s all to play for.
Often by this stage it’s the usual suspects; Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Chelsea, Manchester United… The teams with the global superstars and the prestige that goes with these names.
Getting tickets for this games can be tricky, but not impossible. Especially if you go for premium hospitality tickets.


LA Lakers or NY Knicks Basketball, USA
Catching a ball game is on many peoples travel bucket lists. American’s love their sports and getting to see any American sport live is a great way to get really into the culture.
Baseball and American Football are equally excellent games, but due to the high octane entertainment, basketball is probably best for the casual observer.
The Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks are the glamour teams, the Real Madrid and Man United of basketball if you will. You more likely to spot a celeb at these games and the support is normally very vociferous. You could argue that Cleveland Cavs are the better team or that Celtics have a more die hard support base – but for cool factor it’s gotta be one of these two.

Live tennis is fantastically captivating. Watching two athletes at their prime battle it out in a technical yet physical competition is something that really comes across when watched live.
If tennis isn’t your thing then the atmosphere at tennis events is buzzing and great fun. From the fervent supporters to the people who just go to see and be seen.
The Grand Slams are the major events and the most coveted amongst the players. These also get the most press attention and definitely have the biggest prestige value.
