Protein shakers come in many shapes and sizes. And most of them are bulky, plastic and not particularly stylish. So I found myself in possession of the new Forme protein shaker, courtesy of Gymfluencers, and thought I’d share my findings with you.
Is this the last shaker you’ll ever need to buy? Well, as a kinda spoiler alert, I’m gonna say this is an excellent protein shaker and this might just be the gym accessory you’re looking for.

What is the Forme protein shaker?
Forme is a UK based company who have identified the need for a protein shaker that is stylish, easy to clean, doesn’t get stinky easily and doesn’t make that annoying rattling noise. In fact, the Forme protein shaker is one of those ‘why didn’t someone already think of that’ designs.
For starters it’s an insulated metal (steel) bottle with a nice matt paint finish on the outside. It can hold up to 500 ml of liquid, and has a small detachable compartment on the bottom of the bottle for storage of your choice of protein powder – up to 35 grams.
Using the same insulated bottle design as popular modern insulated bottles means your drink stays cooler for longer (up to 12 hours apparently, although I don’t know who keeps a protein shake for that long). And, in case you want to carry a hot drink, it’ll keep that hot for up to 8 hours.
It also has a shaker element that doesn’t rattle around inside the bottle, meaning that the Forme protein shaker is… Silent! Yup. No more of that annoying clink clunk when you’re shaking up your protein powder.
And another cool thing about the Forme protein shaker is that comes apart into several simple elements that make it both easy to clean and easy to use.
OK. So lets review how to use the Forme protein shaker and how it works.
Breakdown of the Forme protein shaker
The bottle itself looks very cool and minimalist. At first glance it looks pretty much like any other insulated bottle you might have ever owned.
But once you start taking pieces apart, you start to see how cool it is.
As mentioned, you have the detachable powder storage compartment on the base. But then you also have the lid, a detachable lip and the static shaker element that goes underneath the lip.
This makes it really easy to clean up after you’ve had your protein shake, and ensures you don’t end up with a stinky protein shaker. And anyone who has used a standard plastic protein shaker knows exactly how quickly that happens.
In fact, the Forme protein shaker is actually made from kitchen grade stainless steel, with all the plastic elements made from recycled polypropylene. Eco-conscious gym fanatics rejoice!

Once you’ve put all the pieces together, you can add as much water as you want for your protein shake. There is also a handy level guide inside the bottle so you can see how much liquid to add.
The detachable powder storage serves two purposes. One, you can store your powder (obvs). But, two, also you can use it as a shaker to break up lumps of powder.
In fact, the shaker does really make a difference. When I first got the bottle, I did just scoop the powder straight from my bag into the shaker, and it was kinda lumpy even after a vigorous shake.
Using the powder shaker does actually make it easier to add the powder to the liquid, and yes, it also makes it smoother with NO lumps.
And, as you’d expect, there is no noise when shaking.
Another cool feature, and one that many people find very annoying about those generic plastic protein shakers is that there is no leakage. Because this is a steel bottle with tightly screwed on plastic lid and lip, there is no liquid leak and you can safely store the bottle in your gym bag without fear of a big wet patch when you arrive at the gym.
Any negatives?
While its a cool design, I do tend to find that tipping the powder from the container into the bottle usually involves some spillage. In fact, if you’re not super careful it can end up being a bit of a powdery headache – so go easy when you first start using your Forme shaker.
Other than that, no. I think the look, feel and durability of the of the bottle do mean its built to last….
In review: Should you buy the Forme protein shaker?
I’ve owned a couple of fairly generic plastic protein shaker bottles in my time, and no question that the Forme protein shaker trumps them easily.
Just the ease of cleaning makes such a difference, and no whiffy lids when you’re trying to get your shake down post gym.
In addition to this, it just looks and feels like a premium item. It’s pleasant to hold, easy to put together and giving it a shake is straightforward – and it’s not going to annoy people with that clank clank of the mixer ball.
The Forme protein shaker also comes in a variety of simple colours, including charcoal black, jungle green, chalk white and azure blue (looks more like baby blue to me, but hey).

Cons:
- A bit more expensive than other shakers on the market
At £30, it isn’t the cheapest protein shaker you can buy. But… It probably is the best. An easy 5-star rating for the Forme shaker in our review.
