Bucharest is one of Eastern Europe’s most appealing destinations, well known for its safety, inexpensiveness, impressive architecture, and attractive landmarks.
Still, one of our favourite things about Bucharest, and what calls out to most travellers is the outgoing and energetic nightlife scene.
As Romania emerged from its communist regime during the 90’s, locals adopted an outgoing and party hard attitude, and the city itself evolved to meet these requirements. Partygoers are constantly on the lookout for the latest and trendiest spots to enjoy their evenings, and it is not surprising as to why there are an abundance of spots to choose from that satisfy the majority’s tastes.
All signs point towards the Old Town also known as the Lipscani District. Here there is something for everyone. One can find trendy bars, Irish pubs, cafes, sky bars and restaurants, but also the Old Town is a host to several clubs. If you don’t have a pre-planned night out then we recommend to take a casual stroll around the area.
However, locals tend to experience their nights outside this touristic hub and head towards venues located in Herastrau and along the lake, Calea Victoriei and Calea Floreasca.
Dress codes and entrance fees frequently apply to venues outside of the Old Town and getting around is easy as Bucharest is served by a variety of public transport options, and for simplicity visitors are just an app away from an Uber ride.
Thousands of Bachelors who celebrated their Stag Party in Bucharest can vouch that the capital is one of the hottest locations in Europe in terms of nightlife quality. There is hardly a better choice within Eastern Europe to spend ones last night of freedom.
This all being said, here are our top 5 picks to experience the infamous Bucharest Nightlife.
